Retirement Planner is, itself, retiring on Thursday 15 October 2021.

The much-loved title, in operation since 2004, is closing its doors this week but, dear readers, you will find all the best retirement advice insight over on sister title Professional Adviser, so do please join me there.

As editor since 2015, I would like to thank all of RP’s loyal readers and dedicated contributors for their help and assistance during my tenure.

I am sure previous editors Helen Morrissey and Gary Corcoran (launch editor) have happy memories of their time on RP and share my sentiments – we honestly could not put together relevant content for the adviser audience without the expert insight of industry professionals.

Having written about pensions and retirement planning for almost 15 years I have covered my fair share of big changes, most notably the pensions freedom reforms which effectively threw a hand grenade into the annuity space.

Unfortunately, I missed the A-Day reforms but have heard a lot about them! The Retail Distribution Review, self-invested personal pension due diligence and defined benefit transfer sagas are also on my list of memorable topics and coverage.

I have made many friends in the industry as editor of RP and have proudly handed out numerous RP Awards to worthy recipients over the years. The title will be missed but the issues and coverage will remain in the spotlight over on Professional Adviser.

Contrary to popular opinion, there is never a dull moment in pensions. I hope you will join me on PA, where I will strive to keep you up to date.

With best wishes and thanks for reading over the years,

Jenna Brown
