Women are still being deterred from selecting financial planning as a career as it is perceived as a male-dominated sector, according to a whitepaper from the Women’s Wealth Alliance.
Its whitepaper, which surveyed 520 women in the financial services sector in June 2025, found that 93% of women currently or previously working in financial planning would recommend the role to other women. However, among women who have never worked in the sector, 56% said they would not consider financial planning as a future career, with 84% citing its male-dominated image as a key deterrent.
