Advisers note uptick in clients rejecting harmful climate investments

More clients focusing on climate risk in investment portfolios

Nearly all (93%) wealth managers and financial advisers are seeing an increase in clients avoiding funds and stocks that invest in companies and sectors that are harming the environment or contributing to climate change, Ortec Finance has found.

A survey conducted in April among respondents whose firms manage approximately £1.2trn , found that eight in ten (83%) are seeing more clients focusing on the climate risk their investment portfolios are potentially exposed to, with 38% of these saying they are seeing a dramatic increase.
