'No news is good news': Spring Statement stability welcomed

Chancellor Rachel Reeves delivered a ‘boring’ Spring Statement today where no major policies were announced, a development welcomed by industry commentators.

Reeves gave an economic update to the House of Commons today (3 March) with no new policy or amendments announced. The government has previously said it wants to stick with one major fiscal event a year, with the last Budget being delivered in November last year. Aberdeen Adviser head of technical engagement Andrew Zanelli said it was a case of "no news is good news". He said: "Advisers and their clients will breathe a sigh of relief that the much anticipated ‘boring budget' turned out to be just that as they continue to work through what last year's Autumn Budget means for them.  ...
