Taking too little risk’ is the most common perceived mistake by clients

More than a third (34%) of advised clients said that one of their mistakes over the last 12 months is “taking too little risk” with their finances, according to the Scottish Widows Investor Confidence Barometer.

This was the most common perceived mistake reported by clients and marks a rise of 23% from the previous barometer. This was according to a twice-yearly survey conducted by Censuswide for Scottish Widows Platform between 8 and 18 September 2023. It included responses from 502 advised consumers aged 35-70 with a minimum of £100,000 investible assets, and 502 advisers who have clients, whose firm had assets of less than £500m.
