Scottish Widows research shows certain groups at disadvantage in retirement

Over one third of savers in Britain are not on track to reach the threshold for a minimum lifestyle in retirement, latest research from Scottish Widows shows.

The insurer's 2023 Retirement Report  - published today (28 June) - revealed its newly launched national retirement forecast (NRF), which was created to assess the potential retirement outcomes for those aged between 22 and 65 years old by using a combination of factors including pensions, other long-term savings, inheritance and accounting for any housing costs. It then calculated these projected levels of income against the retirement living standards set by the Pensions and Lifetime Savings Association (PLSA).
