'Simple' product suite a step closer after Trading Standards approval

A range of simple products that can be bought without advice have got a step closer to market with the receipt of a Trading Standards Institute kite mark.

Simple products are an idea put forward by the government in the wake of the financial crisis to help rebuild trust in the sector. So far they are expected to include an easy access savings account, a 30 day notice savings account, a regular savings account, and fixed term life insurance. They will not be tailored to meet individual customer needs, but are supposed to meet basic needs and offer a fair deal.
