Gateshead adviser firm goes bust amid flurry of FOS complaints

Gateshead-based adviser firm Consumer Wealth has entered liquidation amid a flurry of Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) claims.

According to a notice on The Gazette, liquidators James Miller and Gareth Harris of solicitors RSM Restructuring Advisory were appointed to the firm on Christmas Eve. The notice comes after the firm faced 13 complaints to the ombudsman against it, dating from 1 April 2018 to the end of December. One complaint of the 13 has been published online, and relates to collapsed discretionary fund manager and self-invested personal pension (SIPP) provider, Greyfriars Asset Management.
