FCA non-exec director and TPAS chairman dies after short illness

Non-executive director of the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) David Harker has died aged 64 after a short illness.

Harker was appointed to the FCA board in 2013 following a two-year stint as a member of the regulator's financial services consumer panel. He was also currently chairman of The Pensions Advisory Service (TPAS) - a role he took on last year. Harker had served almost 13 years as chief executive of Citizens Advice - between 1997 and 2010. FCA chairman John Griffith-Jones said in a statement: "David served on the FCA Board since its inception on 1 April 2013 and I am extremely grateful for the vital contribution he made to the organisation, especially during those important early days....
