Language is fluid. It changes over time, adapting to and shaping the times we live in.  Words, much like fashion, come and go. Some fall out of favour. Others take on entirely new meanings.  For example, the Oxford Word of the Year 2024 was "brain rot", a term originally appeared in Henry David Thoreau's book Walden, back in 1854.
