FCA communication described as ‘inconsistent' in findings

Financial firms' confidence in the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) communication and regulatory approach has declined over the past year, according to the FCA and Practitioner Panel Survey (FCAPP).

Published on 3 October, the results showed that while most firms still rated the FCA's communication as clear and consistent, there had been a rise in discontent among fixed firms. The proportion of fixed firms disagreeing that FCA communication is clear rose to 11%, up from 2% last year. Those who said it was inconsistent jumped to 17% (from 8%), and those who found it irrelevant climbed to 9% (from 0%).
