Wealthy clients seeking more IHT advice ahead of Autumn Budget

Wealthy clients are increasingly seeking advice on inheritance tax (IHT) and estate planning following speculation around the Autumn Budget, according to Rathbones Group.

The findings, based on responses from 460 Rathbones clients with up to £5m in investable assets, revealed that 43% expect to need advice on inheritance and estate planning over the next year - with gifting accounting for 11%. With the Autumn Budget due to take place on 26 November, Rathbones said that interest in inheritance-related matters has risen sharply this year. While inheritance planning is central, pensions, retirement, and later-life planning remain key concerns, cited by nearly a fifth (19%) of respondents.
