Startup Hackford launches FCA register search platform

Tool uses machine learning to segment more than 70,000 UK regulated firms by category

London-based startup Hackford has launched a searchable software platform designed to help compliance professionals and regtech vendors navigate the Financial Conduct Authority's (FCA) regulated firms.

The platform allows users, particularly compliance consultants and regtech sales teams, to search more than 70,000 firms by business type, regulatory permissions, or key individuals. These include more specific subcategories such as wealth managers, hedge funds, investment managers, and holistic financial planners. The official FCA Register currently requires users to search one firm at a time and offers no categorisation.
