Model portfolio sales slow in H1 after 2023 boom

Sales increased by just 6% in H1 2024

Model portfolio sales within the UK financial adviser channel have slowed in the first half of 2024, following a boom in the past year, according to data from ISS Market Intelligence (ISS MI).

Its report showed that sales both in aggregate and among individual firms using model portfolios increased by just 6% in H1 2024, compared to 13% in the same period of 2023. Despite this slowdown, channel gross sales grew by 14%. Model portfolios' share of channel sales returned to 51%, where it was at the start of 2023, after a period of growth last year. The report is based on adviser platform data and highlights market trends and opportunities at the firm, model provider, and fund levels.
