Wren Sterling acquires Oxford-based financial planning firm

National IFA firm Wren Sterling has bought Critchleys Financial Planning, an Oxford-based financial adviser with £150m of assets under advice (AUA), as the firm accelerates its growth strategy.

The transaction is Wren Sterling's second deal since its secondary management buyout by Lightyear Capital in late 2021, following the acquisition of Mutual Financial Management in early June, which together with Critchleys Financial Planning, will add a total of £825m of AUM to the business. Mutual Financial Management is an IFA based in Wilmslow, Cheshire, and MDFM a discretionary fund manager. It has about 1,100 clients and £675m of assets under management.
