Sesame: Our contacts tell us RDR won't change

Mark Hoban, the financial secretary to the Treasury, yesterday said the FSA had "consulted extensively" on the RDR after he was again asked about the impact the Review could have on IFAs.

Answering on behalf of secretary of state for business, innovation and skills Vince Cable to a written question posed by Conservative MP Harriett Baldwin, Hoban said the FSA had also published cost-benefit analyses of its proposals and a number of research documents about their impact. Hoban was the coalition's representative during a debate on the RDR in the House of Commons a week ago and during an earlier hearing in Westminster Hall, when he sparked controversy by comparing advisers' current entry-level requirements to those of a McDonald's shift manager.
