Multi-asset AUM doubled in 10 years

Many asset managers have been focusing on multi-asset solutions to reclaim investor market share, but recently introduced value assessments have shown many major brands in a poor light. Given the greater scrutiny they face, can we expect more long-term change on this front? Stephen Little investigates

Throughout the past dozen years since the Global Financial Crisis, investor money has been flooding into funds that combine stocks, bonds and other asset classes. Figures from the Investment Association show money invested in Mixed Asset funds has more than doubled since 2011, rising from £113bn to £275bn by 2020. This represents an effort from asset managers to reclaim investor market share through a particular focus on multi-asset.
