The fund selection and fund research markets are a major part of the multi-trillion pound investment industry but who are the key players within it?

In the latest of our series of video interviews with the most respected individuals who select funds, decide ratings or otherwise influence the allocation of investor fund flows, we meet John Husselbee, head of multi-asset at Liontrust.

With 30 years' investment experience, Husselbee is one of the most highly regarded practitioners of multi-manager and multi-asset investing in the UK retail market. Before joining Liontrust in 2013, he founded North Investment Partners in 2005. Prior to that, he was director of multi-manager investment at Henderson Global Investors, where he was responsible for portfolio construction and fund selection for a range of portfolios totalling more than £650m.

Before Hendersons, Husselbee was responsible for the launch and ongoing management of the portfolio management service at Rothschild Asset Management. He is also an external investment adviser to The Worshipful Company of Grocers and a member of the investment committee for the Royal College of Nursing Foundation.

The Investment Influencers series, which has most recently featured Michelle McGrade of TD Wealth International, Peter Elston of Seneca Investment Managers and Matthew Stanesby of Close Brothers Asset Management, will continue over the coming months, offering insights into how key industry players see the world of investing and expect to deal with such challenges as increased regulation, greater market volatility and a growing trend towards short-termism.

If you would like to put yourself or a colleague forward to take part in the Investment Influencers series, please email Georgina Walters.
