Committing to regular active saving towards retirement is a significant factor in levels of confidence about the future, research from Axa Life Invest has shown.

The firm's Retirement Confidence Index 2015 said the wealthiest people in the UK are not necessarily the most confident in their future retirement. It said actively saving for retirement generates confidence and creates a positive psychological impact. The level of saving is not a factor in confidence levels, it added. Axa Life Invest said the research suggested "saving is good for you".
