Standard Life chief executive David Nish to exit

Standard Life chief executive David Nish is to step down after running the provider for six years.

Nish will be replaced by current Standard Life Investments chief executive Keith Skeoch. Nish ran the insurer for six years and was on the board for nine years. In a note to the stock exchange, the business said the execution of Standard Life's strategy has accelerated over the last year with the acquisition of Ignis Asset Management and the disposal of its Canadian companies. Standard Life returned to the regulated financial advice market earlier this year with the purchase of Pearson Jones.
