Whatever tax measures the Chancellor unveils in Wednesday's Budget speech, Neil MacGillivray hopes they have been thought through with a bit more care than appears to have happened in the Scottish Parliament

As soon as I say this relates to the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Budget, many of you may stop reading and move on to attend other matters. If you have any Scottish clients, however - or are just looking for some light relief and a laugh at the expense of those now blessed to have an ‘S' prefix to their tax code - please read on. You may have seen in the headlines that 368,000 Scots will now pay £400 more in income tax than the rest of the UK due to the changes being made in the Scottish Budget.
