Simple savings vehicle for disabled clients welcomed as 'groundbreaking'

Potential to widen access ‘if implemented well’

Proposals for a simplified savings product for putting aside money for disabled children, along with other uses, have been welcomed by professionals working to improve disabled people’s access to advice and financial services.

The idea, , put forward in a discussion paper by Paul Brice and published by the Tax Law Review Committee of the Institute for Fiscal Studies, would see the introduction of an additional simplified savings vehicle with many similarities to trusts.
