Financial adviser earnings rise significantly – BWD Census

Financial adviser earnings have risen, with employed advisers seeing on average a near 15% increase, according to findings from the BWD Financial Planner Earnings and Benefits Census 2025/26.

Earnings for employed financial advisers stood at £98,644, up from £85,947 the previous year. Self-employed financial advisers saw earnings rise a more modest 5%, from £99,602 to £104,515. Almost 40% of advisers now earn more than £100,000, BWD found, with 23% taking home more than £120,000. Part of this was due to salary rise boosts, but bonuses saw large gains. The average financial adviser salary has risen just over 8%, from £71,256 to £77,251. Average adviser bonuses, meanwhile, were up almost 46% for the year, from £14,692 to £21,424.
