Panel unpacks next gen themes in advice

A financial adviser has admitted that he spends most of the time telling clients not to invest cryptocurrency when it comes up in conversation.

Speaking on a panel at Dynamic Planner's Unlocking Trusted Advice conference today (10 February), Evelyn Partners investment management partner Fergus Caheny spoke on how the next generation of clients tend to take a particular interest in cryptocurrency investment. "The danger with younger generations is that they're drawn to shiny products and headlines," he said. "Social media eggs them on - influencers, stories, trends - and it pulls them in." Caheny shared that when he sits down with a client's younger family members, cryptocurrency and gold come up in almost every conversation. ...
