Advertising watchdog upholds complaints against Whiskey & Wealth Club

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has upheld multiple complaints against Whiskey & Wealth Club over misleading investment return claims and inadequate risk disclosures in its marketing of Irish cask whiskey investments.

The ruling relates to a paid-for Facebook advert, a linked landing page and content on the firm's website, all seen in July 2025, which promoted whiskey cask investments as offering "solid returns" and projected annual returns of between 8% and 18%, with some exit strategies claiming potential returns of up to 55% per annum. The ASA found that these claims were misleading and not adequately substantiated, and that the firm failed to make clear that whiskey cask investments are unregulated and that their value can go down as well as up.
