EQ's John Spiers awarded MBE in New Year Honours List

EQ Investors founder and chair John Spiers was among individuals recognised in the 2026 New Year Honours List.

Spiers, The EQ Foundation CEO and EQ Investors (EQ) chair, was awarded an MBE for services to business and charity. In 1986, Spiers set up Bestinvest, which had more than 50,000 clients when purchased by private equity firm 3i in 2007. Bestinvest went on to be merged with Tilney in 2014 following its sale to Permira. The combined businesses went on to form Evelyn Partners after a merger with Smith & Williamson.
