Minister reiterates no-change stance on APR and BPR proposals

In response to MP’s ‘devastating consequences’ warning

A minister has reiterated that the government has no plans to make changes to proposed Agricultural Property Relief (APR) and Business Property Relief (BPR) reforms.

This is despite one Member of Parliament (MP) Carla Lockhart saying the proposals will have "devastating consequences" on family farms in the UK. Speaking in a Westminster Hall debate on Tuesday (28 October), the Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury Dan Tomlinson said the decision to reform APR and BPR from next April "was not one the government took lightly".
