Advisers have urged their peers to consider how they present themselves on social media and have aired concerns that individuals "sniping" at each other in online discussions could paint the profession in a bad light.
Gatland Wealth Management principal Kevin Gatland told PA that most adviser disagreements he sees online stem from "derogatory comments" about different models, whether that is fee structures or restricted versus independent advice. But he argued that the behaviour does little to help the profession's image. "Open sniping doesn't help the profession and erodes trust," he said.
