SFO charges six in 'complex' pension fraud investigation

Conspiracy to defraud, money laundering and Perjury Act offences among charges

The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has charged multiple individuals with fraud related offences, following a complex investigation into the transfer of £75m in pension funds into storage units based mainly in the North of England and Scotland.

In a statement last week (25 July), the SFO said Toby Whittaker, Stephen Michael Talbot, Stuart Grehan (also known as Stuart Chapman-Clark), Terence Wright and Emma Hawkins (also known as Emma Grehan) had been charged with conspiracy to defraud. It added Stephen Michael Talbot had been charged with money laundering and noted a sixth defendant had also been charged with money laundering. It said Stephen Michael Talbot and Stuart Grehan had additionally been charged with Perjury Act offences.
