More than half (67%) of Gen Z Brits consider financial advisers to be “the most important source of information” when making investment decisions, despite 71% of them now turning to social media and finfluencers as key sources of information, according to Charles Schwab.

Its Investment Forces survey, which is based on feedback from 1,000 UK respondents, found that LinkedIn is the most important social media channel for Gen Z clients ahead of Instagram, TikTok and Reddit. Meanwhile, 63% of all age groups consider financial advisers to be the most important source of information – increasing from 58% last year. More than six in ten (62%) of Gen Z individuals rely on conversations within online investment communities when making investment decisions.
