Campaign group the Transparency Taskforce has called on chancellor Rachel Reeves to address the “trust deficit” in the financial services sector.

Written by founder Andy Agathangelou with more than 400 co-signatories ahead of Reeves' Mansion House speech on 14 November, the letter urged the government to boost economic activity by building trust and confidence in financial services. "Currently, the growth potential of the UK financial services industry is held back by the low level of trust the public has in the sector," the letter read.
