CISI to cut level 6 pension transfers & planning exam after 2025

Number of people choosing to work in this area ‘lower than anticipated’

The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments (CISI) is withdrawing its Level 6 Pension Transfer & Planning Advice qualification, Professional Adviser has learnt.

The professional body told PA that that the qualification is being withdrawn after the June 2025 exam session. This decision comes because the number of people choosing to work specifically in this area is lower than it anticipated.          The Level 6 Pension Transfer & Planning Advice specialist exam was launched in December 2017, after the 2015 pension freedom reforms were introduced.
