Manifestos criticised for lack of financial services understanding

‘None of them have offered great opportunities for the sector’

The industry has criticised each political party’s manifesto for their lack of financial services understanding, a Professional Adviser poll has shown.

In last week's PA Asks, we asked our readers which party's manifesto proposals for financial services they favoured ahead of the 4 July general election. The results showed the Conservative Party came out on top with 52%, 21% said none, 14% said Labour, 10% said other, 3% said Liberal Democrats and 0% voted the Green Party. One respondent who backed the Conservative manifesto said: "None of them have really done nor offered great opportunities or openings for the sector but Conservatives offer the best hope."
