Changes to R06 Financial Planning Practice unit

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) is to trial replacing exams with client-focused coursework assessments for the R06 Financial Planning Practice unit after adviser feedback.

The changes come as a result of the ‘Shaping the future together' consultation released in October 2021 which gave members the chance to share their views on the organisation's plans and the services it provides. The CII said it would pilot changes to assessments in RO6 as the majority of financial planners who responded to the consultation said they wanted more flexibility and realistic assessed tasks.
