Advisers report high level of platform segmentation - the lang cat's annual survey

Most advice firms run more than one platform relationship and assets held on a legacy basis are spread across a number of systems, according to respondents of the lang cat’s annual State of the Adviser Nation research.

The report, now its fourth edition, surveyed 445 adviser respondents to provide insights into the UK financial advice profession. A big takeaway was that advisers prioritised client requirements when it came to choosing platforms and centralised investment proposition (CIP), leading to a great diversity of choice and process.   The research found that the majority (88%) of firms now use a CIP to some degree, with a third (34%) of those allowing for some flexibility in its construction, for example through the use of ethical funds, active, passive, or a blended approach to portfolios. ...
