An adviser was left frustrated after St. James’s Place (SJP) advised he either fax or post an information request, despite a series of emails leading up to the request.

4 Financial Planning founder and financial planner Ian Else told Professional Adviser that a client of his had requested some information regarding a pension transfer via email. On 5 October, Else sent SJP a letter of authority by email that was signed by the client and - in theory - would allow SJP to provide information on a transfer policy. But after giving the relevant information and speaking with someone from SJP, the advice giant informed Else on Friday morning (9 October) that he would either have to fax or write a letter to move forward.
