Newcastle Building Society buys second North Yorkshire advice firm

Newcastle Building Society’s advice arm Newcastle Financial Advisers has bought its second North Yorkshire financial adviser firm in the form of Carter James Associates.

The acquisition of the Askrigg-based firm is part of a wider growth strategy to support its face-to-face financial advice offering across the North East, Cumbria and North Yorkshire, the building society said. The purchase adds 90 investment clients and "hundreds" more insurance and mortgage customers, it added, and £2m funds under management. As part of the acquisition, Carter James Associates director and financial adviser Amanda Carter (pictured) has joined Newcastle Financial Advisers.
