SJP complaints figures dwarf other large advice firms

St James’s Place (SJP) has received at least double the number of Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) complaints compared to other advice firms operating in the market, the latest FOS stats have shown.

The latest FOS complaints dataset available from H2 2019 showed advice giant SJP received 71 cases between 1 June 2019 and 31 December, down slightly from H1, when it received 75. In H2, the FOS upheld nearly a quarter (24%) of complaints in favour of the consumer.  The FOS only makes public the number of complaints against firms if a firm has received more than 30 complaints.  Meanwhile, the likes of large networks Sesame and Openwork, which have featured in previous complaints datasets, did not feature in H2 2019, meaning they received fewer than 30 complaints against them.  Harg...
