'Poacher turned gamekeeper' - Nucleus to launch its own discretionary portfolios

Professional Adviser has learnt that adviser platform Nucleus has created a subsidiary company to launch its own discretionary model portfolios as a platform expert brands it a “poacher turned gamekeeper.”

According to public documents available on Companies House, Nucleus IMX is a subsidiary company owned by the platform. Nucleus chief David Ferguson is a director of the company. The activity of the company is for "the provision of discretionary portfolio management service to advisers and clients". The latest document - the firm's results to year-end 30 April 2019 - also stated the company had not traded "during the year or subsequent to" the year end, adding "it is not anticipated that this will change in the foreseeable future".
