Schroders' affiliate Benchmark Capital has appointed former head of Fidelity's FundNetwork David White as group managing director.
White will join the technology-led adviser support business in February 2020 and will work closely alongside CEO Ian Cooke to develop its future growth strategy.
Benchmark Capital, which was purchased by Schroders in 2016 as part of the firm's UK retail push, consists of a technology company, an institutional funds platform, a network of financial advisers and a restricted advice business.
Schroders CEO and chairman of Benchmark Capital Peter Harrison said the technology firm is a "key part" of the group's UK wealth strategy, and that Cooke's appointment will help the business "to continue building on these strong foundations".
White left FundsNetwork in September 2012 after ten years to become head of retail, UK life at global insurer Zurich, where he also became CEO of its EMEA travel business.
Cooke said White's addition will help Benchmark Capital to grow the business amid plans "to significantly increase our footprint in the market. David will be central to Benchmark achieving those ambitions".
White added: "Ian Cooke and his team have built a solid foundation among the wealth and financial planning community and working together we plan to go from strength to strength, supporting Schroders' ambitions in the UK retail wealth space."
