Financial planners need to bear in mind their clients' 'adult children' are staying in the family home for longer and causing more financial strain, Jacqueline Lockie warned PA360 North delegates on Wednesday.

Speaking at Professional Adviser's day-long conference in Warrington, the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment head of financial planning suggested advisers should encourage their clients to get their children involved with their finances. She said: "If the children are educated in the financial planning process and the parents do pass away, then it is more likely the children will stay with you and keep those assets with you moving forward." She also stressed the importance of educating clients' children about the funds that should cascade down from their parents. Loc...
