Maven proposes merger of two VCTs

Maven Capital has proposed merging its Maven VCT 2 and Maven VCT 4 offerings to create a £56m trust to save on running costs and improve the diversification of the portfolios.

The firm has published the prospectus and circulars of the proposal to dissolve Maven VCT 2 and transfer its assets to Maven VCT 4. The venture capital trusts (VCTs) have been managed by the same Maven team since 2004 with "similar mandates" and would have net assets of £55.9m once combined. Jack Rose: VCT and EIS investors are living in interesting times Maven said the portfolio of assets were considered to be consistent between the two trusts, holding the same investments with just 10 exceptions.
