Citizens Advice launches 'super complaint' against loyal customer penalty

Citizens Advice has submitted a 'super-complaint' to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) calling on it to help with and put an end to loyal or disengaged customers paying higher prices.

Research by the consumer organisation indicated customers who stayed loyal to their providers were losing out on more than £4bn in total each year. Citizens Advice looked across five "essential" markets included within the complaint: mobile, broadband, home insurance, mortgages and savings. It found eight out of 10 people were paying significantly higher prices in at least one of the aforementioned markets for remaining with their existing supplier.
