Thornton's Sharon Sutton named PFS President

The Personal Finance Society (PFS) has named Thornton managing director and Chartered Financial Planner Sharon Sutton as its President for 2017/18 as Nick Turner steps down following his 12-month rotation in the job.

Sutton, whose leadership was formalised at the Society's annual general meeting on Monday, has more than 30 years' experience in financial service and was chairman of the Isle of Man region from its inauguration until 2012. PFS chief executive Keith Richards said: "Sharon is an incredibly welcome addition to the PFS as its President for the year ahead. Her experience will be invaluable in helping us further evolve our role as a professional body and I look forward to working closely with her over the next 12 months.
