George Osborne to join Blackrock part-time

Former Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne is to join asset manager BlackRock on a part-time basis from next month.

He will work as a senior adviser to the group's BlackRock Investment Institute investment research arm and, in doing so, will be reunited with his former top economic adviser Rupert Harrison, who took a senior position there last year. While Osborne (pictured) will remain an MP,  he will not be allowed to lobby the UK government - although the appointment has already begun to fuel speculation about his political career in the long run.
