What's the point? Third of over 55s fail to see 'value of retirement advice'

A third of over 55s who are still working do not see the value in taking financial advice at retirement, according to research from MGM Advantage.

The poll of more than 2,000 people found 41% were unaware of retirement income options, 36% did not know what an IFA did and 33% would not value financial advice at retirement. The annuity provider said the research casts doubt on the effectiveness of the government's guidance guarantee. MGM Advantage pensions technical director Andrew Tully said figures were "extremely concerning".
