Longer life expectancy is transforming the way we think about retirement. While living a longer life should be welcome news, the reality is that we also live a larger proportion of our lives in ill health. According to ONS data, both men and women in the UK spend just over 60 years in "good health", meaning many can expect to spend a significant portion of later life managing health conditions or declining wellbeing.
