Neil Wortham's first day on the job - having secured a deal to provide paraplanning services to Foster Denovo's 100-odd self-employed advisers - was an eye-opener. "When I started, I was sat in the corner by myself," he said. "I think I billed for 20 hours or so in my first month". Now, the five members of the paraplanning team at the national IFA each completes about 35 hours per week, invoicing the advisers separately for work undertaken.
