Law Commissioner named CII Professional Standards Board chairman

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has appointed Law Commissioner David Hertzell to chair its Professional Standards Board (PSB), succeeding David McIntosh who will leave his post at the end of the year.

In his new role at the helm of the CII board's advisory body, Hertzell will be responsible for guiding the institute's standards for 'achievement of excellence' and the CII's governance of its members and internally. Hertzell is a serving Law Commissioner, having been appointed in 2007. Before joining the Law Commission he was managing partner at Davies Arnold Cooper Solicitors, where he began his legal career in 1981. He specialised in professional indemnity, reinsurance, captive insurance and regulatory issues, and is also vice president of the British Insurance Law Association. ...
