FOS lists details of 1,250 complaints as service goes live

The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has made public details of around 1,250 final decisions as its new reporting service goes live.

The FOS said it would publish the vast majority of final decisions on its new site, as part of its drive to increase transparency in its decision making. The only decisions that will not go on the site will be where there is a likelihood that complainants are identified, which is prohibited by law. However, no decisions within the period have been withheld. So far, the service has listed 1,253 decisions, of which around a quarter were upheld. Data will be added on a rolling basis, with a six to nine week delay to give consumers the chance to accept the decision - no details will...
